All,
There is no easy way to say this so I think I'll just cut to the chase here. As of today, I've stepped down from my position as co-organizer for W3SI. I've been debating this decision for over a month now, and after much consideration, I believe the club would be better off with someone else running the show along with SJ. Basically, it just boils down to the fact that I cannot provide the committment or dedicate the necessary time required for this job anymore. As a result of my inability to find time, many important things within the club haven't been getting done on a timely basis such as website updates, event planning, new membership packets, etc. Rather than dragging this on and hurting the club's ability to continue flourish, I feel it's in the best interest of everyone if I resign.
SJ and I have discussed this at length over the last several weeks and started looking for someone to replace me and fill the roles I previous managed. The person we agreed would be an outstanding choice is Aaron Stoeffler from Mount Horeb. After speaking with Aaron about this, he stepped up to the challenge and agreed to take over where I left off. I am very confident in Aaron's ability, along with SJ's, to continue to provide club members with wonderful events and to keep everything rolling smoothly for the benefit of all W3SI members. I would encourage all of you to give both SJ and Aaron your support through this transitional period. I know that together, they'll do an awesome job. You can expect more of the same from W3SI: Great events, great times, great cars, and great friends...
Thanks for making it fun for me during the last two years. I've made some great friends along the way and will continue to browse the message board and keep in touch with many of you - I'll do my best not to be a stranger. Feel free to drop me a line anytime - you guys know how to reach me. As for future events, hopefully I'll be able to attend an event or two yet this year - we'll see. Unfortunately I've already cancelled my plans for the NG in July, but hopefully I can still do the rural cruise or another event later this year...
It's been a wild ride. Congrats to Aaron on his new role... and big thanks to SJ for helping make this whole thing happen. At least I can walk away knowing everything is in good hands. Hope to see you guys soon. Jesse

I'm sorry to hear that you're stepping down, Jesse. I do, though, understand your decision and certainly appreciate the time you've taken over the past years to make the club what it is today.
Good luck, I certainly hope to see you as an active member in the future of the w3si community. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you out with any of the car related things going on in your life.
Thanks Jesse, good luck to Aaron and SJ, you have my support.
Matt

Couldn't have picked a better guy for the job. Aaron is one of the best supporters of this club. I'll help keep him in line too. You know I'm here for you Jesse too. Hate to see you fade into the background...

Sorry to hear you'll be stepping down. Thanks again for all the work you have put into the club and I hope to see you at some events. Good luck with everything. And if you need anything, you know I am just a phonecall away. You definately picked the right man to replace yourself. Aaron is always there when you need him and is a very dedicated member. So congrats Aaron on your new position in the club. Now get to work.

Jesse, you have done an outstanding job. Thank you for all of your hard work. Without your time and effort W3SI would not exist.
Thank you all for the compliments. You may all be assured that I will put every effort into maintaining the camaraderie that we all have come to know as W3SI.

Trust me when I say that I know how it feels to volunteer a lot of hours, put in that effort for a cause such as this, most of which occurs behind-the-scenes, and often seemingly not fully appreciated or even acknowledged.
Having said that, I hope you know that I, likely along with many others, appreciate the hard work you've invested in the Wisconsin 3/S chapter.
Good luck in all that you do.

Damn Jesse,
I remember at the first S7 show when you brought up the idea of W3SI to me and Bryan and were talking about support for it and everything, and of course you had ours. You put in alot of work, and it did not go unnoticed. I appreciate all the advice and help you have given to me about my vehicles, and don't be a stranger!
Aaron: good luck and can't wait to see what you and SJ cook up for this summer

This is very sad news. I'm sorry to hear that Jesse is stepping down. He really put W3SI on the map and he will be missed.
I'm also confident that Aaron is up for the task. He has been dedicated to the 3/S platform for many years.
I'm in the unique position of knowing exactly what it takes to run a club like W3SI, and it is a lot of work sometimes. But for me, its totally worth it when I see a great gathering take place.
Aaron and SJ, just let me know if there is anything I can help with.
later, Curt

Well, I first met Jesse back when were still on the dragnet and starnet lists. At that time 3Si was a dream. He was planning to keep his car stock. I urged him to try and unleash the power of these cars by trying a simple mod or two -- he curses my name daily for the monster I created. But seriously, after 3Si was created, we talked at length about forming this club and worked day and night to throw it together in a couple months. We've come a long way since then. Personally, over time, he became like the little brother I never had, as we both faced adversity on and off the W3SI playing field. We were able to lean on each other and it worked. To say I will miss him is an understatement. However, I hope God guides him through to make the right decisions he needs to, and that he always knows the entire W3SI family is here to help him in anyway we can. I welcome Aaron with open arms as we start this new chapter in our club, and look forward to working with him as we move forward and continue to grow. Regards, Scott

Sorry to read it Jesse. I know you and SJ have put plenty effort into this site.
I know all too well that it can be very difficult to find time to juggle work, play, and family. Sometimes something has to give. For me it was all web forums and my 3000GT.
All is not lost since you picked a good guy to follow up and now you will have more time to devote to your cars.
