From experience. It does make a noticable difference. I've run aftermarket pullies on every car I've ever owned.
First off, it doesn't increase power from the motor. It frees it up. See, there are things that take away HP from the motor before it gets to the wheels. Your accessories (power steering, alternator, AC) are one of them. The stock crank pulley is about 7 lbs and the aftermarket aluminum ones weigh considerably less (1 to 2 lbs.) so the motor doesn't need to work as hard to spin it, thus you've free up more HP. Same thing when you add a CFDS, light rims, or an aluminum flywheel.
Plus the stock one is known to come apart when it gets really high miles on it (as I'm sure you know from experience). That's because it's 2 pieces glued togther.
The only problem I have with aftermarket pullies is they didn't leave a space to use the Mitsu special tool for bracing the crank so you can loosen/tighten the pulley bolt. Thus you won't be able to remove/get it on very tight without an air gun.
