ok I will grant you that the internals are not forged with the exception of the crank that is still forged but the heads, block, crank, rods, and pistons are mitsu

This thread is funny. Where are you going to find a single turbo kit for these cars? It's takes quite a bit to fabricate manifolds to even get the turbo to bolt up. Then you'd need some type of feul control... Good luck.
I voted nitrous. It's the best bang for the buck mod you're going to get for an NA. I think you'll be very happy with the improvements.
I've considered doing a TT conversion before, but I'm talking an all out motor swap including the wireharness and ECU. The price on this varaies on the parts you find. 6 months ago, I was talking with Ty (from Speed Factor), and he had all the parts I needed to do the swap. Can't remember the exact total, but it included a brand new short block (3K alone), RPS clutch ($500), DR Stage II heads ($1700), DR 500's, ($1500), 450cc dsm injectors (which I have), oil cooler (around $200), coolant + oil feed/drain lines, denso feul pump, boost controler, gauges, gaskets, stock TT harness + ECU... It came out to be quite a bit. This was with me doing all the work (Ty quoted just under 3 grand in labor if Speed Factor did all the work).
If you're talking about doing this to an SOHC motor, then you're also going to need a DOHC gauge cluster, alternator, PS pump, there's still quite a bit more...
Moral of the story, go with Nitrous or just save your $$ for a TT.

Well there are 2 kits currently on 3si... One is a little under $2000 plus fuel and gages.. And the other is like $3600 and need less stuff for the complete upgrade..
Have you seen any of the single turbo kits for NA's on the board?? Just wondering..
Nitrous isnt a bad way to go either. But in a way its not my cup of tea for our cars.. I like nitrous sorta as a last resort but again thats just me and my opinion.. RYan

I am not trying to sound coarse but there is really no way to sound any nicer..

Single turbo kits have been on 3SI for about the last 3 months, maybe more...
Personally I don't give a shit what he does anymore, as long as it's something. Try the single turbo, be a pioneer, and unlike the rest of those pioneers out there i know bryan will actually RUN IT AT THE TRACK so others can see what happens.

I have read about the kit Twinturbos is working on AAMOF. Okay, so you don't need a cluster, but I'd rather have a tach with a 7 grand redline than a 6. Seeing as how that the new motor's red line is that high. Anyway, whatever you decide to go with, good luck. Just don't be one of those air heads who, all they do is talk about how fabulous their car is going to be one day... If you really see some potential in this, go for it.
