Vac leak vac smeak. Who need's boost anyhow? I run my sh1t w/o wheels more often than not. Actually half my car is lying on the garage floor again. Perfect time for a part out.

I did what Adam mentioned and just took my pipe to our local hardware store and sized a few up. It was dirt cheap and has worked great and I did that a couple of years ago.
I know I have a slight leak at the throttle body gasket and just got one in the mail. So I will be pressure testing this weekend also. Right now I will assume that after a couple of years I will have the rear turbo O-ring leak again.
Kyle

well, I replaced the rear turbo O-ring and hooked up the air compressor again. No more leak out of the rear turbo, but now I have a huge leak out the oil cap! *sigh* so now I have to stop that leak and see what happens after that.

Sounds like someone forgot to pull and plug one hose before pressure testing. I can't remember what it runs to but I remember Adam making a point to show me. I just remember it's location. Otherwise you put pressure to your front valve cover.

Jhammer wrote: you pull the PCV hose?!! really? yes. That PCV is plumbed to before the intake of the turbo. thus it never sees boost, only vacuum. Welcome to the wonderful world of forced induction padawan. Now you actually have to think about your vacuum lines for a minute or two... I usually jam an old tube of RTV in the hose and nylon tie it so that I don't shoot it out. EDIT: Also, big guy if that o-ring was enough of a leak to keep you completely out of boost... I don't know what to say here... I don't have words for the size of that leak... I think your problem is elsewhere... Are all the bolts on the plenum tight? i did that once... and only once. that was an Epic noise. wastegates hooked up and working? you can test them with compressed air. (obviously) massive exhaust leak pre-turbo? that's about all I can think of unless your tune is completely and utterly horrid. (and yes, I'm saying worse then mine... pfft... too rich... yeah right.)

Jhammer wrote: you pull the PCV hose?!! really? Yep. I stick the business end of my Thaiwan made 3/8s ratchet in the PCV tube. Fits perfect. So pull the tube off the PCV and leave the other end in the intake tube. Stick something in the open end of the tube. I agree with Adam. Your issue is probably more than a boost leak. But get the boost leaks taken care of first. Since you are only seeing 1psi of boost, I don't think its your boost controller. Because you'd still see at least wastegate pressure of 6-7psi with a malfunctioning boost controller. So next I'd suspect your wastegates not functioning right. later, Curt
