I keep fouling plugs. I just put in a tt motor in a n/a car. I am using the n/a wiring, ecu, mas, ect. It is basicly a n/a motor with a turbo kit. Well I used the tt injectors and fuel pump. Why would it foul plugs? ( this is not my car, I am doing it for a friend) It seems as it, is loading too much fuel.

and what are you using to control the fuel? just the stock ECU?

^^^^^^^^^^ Yeah what he said.
You can not use TT injectors on with an NA ECU without a fuel controller. I would stop driving the car or switch back to the NA injectors. Also did you install resistors for the injectors.

Wow I didnt know that you couldnt use bigger injectors with out a afc. I just thought that it would let the same amount of feul in as stock. What are resistors for the injectors? I will put stock n/a injecors in. Do you know the different size? 440?550s or do they go by lbs.

Quote: Wow I didnt know that you couldnt use bigger injectors with out a afc. I just thought that it would let the same amount of feul in as stock. What are resistors for the injectors? You HAVE to have a fuel controller if you change injectors, or your ECU will go nuts. The ECU is programmed for a certain size injector (210cc in this case becasue it is an N/A) so it sprays fuel according to the size. Now you have put in stock TT injectors (360cc) but the ECU doesnt know that, it has no way to know that they are differnet, so it just continues on like it has 210cc. Guess what happens, a 360cc is about 70% bigger, so you are getting WAY too much fuel. Also, N/A injectors are high impedence, and TT injectors are low impedence (basically, the N/A injectors have resistors on them, the TT injectors dont) so if you are using the N/A ECU and harness and you dont add the resistors ( http://www.3sx.com/store/comersus_viewI ... duct=24271) inline, you will burn them out. Also, if you dont have a wideband o2 sensor installed and some sort of data logger, stop everything NOW until you get one, you have no way to track your air/fuel ratios. This is very bad, and could easily blow your motor. lean mixture = BOOM!

In addition to what Jhammer said you will also want to change your oil. When running that rich it will not only foul the plugs, but the excess fuel will wash down the cylinder walls and end up in the oil making you a prime candidate for a spun bearing.

With the stock N/A injectors you will not be able to run boost at all without being VERY lean, so I wouldnt recommend doing that at all. I can't stress enough how important a wideband o2 sensor is to this project, without it you have a 95% chance you will blow it up. $200 o2 sensor < $3000 shortblock

The guy I am doing this for has no money at all I thought I was done with the car until I fouled plugs. I had told him the car was done and to pay the little money I charged him. He told me he didnt have the money, I told him hes not getting his car. So I need to install a wide band o2, some sort of safc, and resistors for the injectors. These are all out of my expertice. I can biuld motors. But put a wire diagram infront of me I might get it right but it would take awhile. Do you think I should tell him to take it to a shop? I am really imbarest of this car. It has been alot of work on my part. I drive eclipses and this guy liked how I did my own work to my cars and friends cars he wanted me to do this. He brings me a blown n/a with an ugly paint job with a bodykit that doesnt fit, with 20"wheels. Tells me to pull the motor and he has a smashed vr4. with a good motor. I pull the motor and he brings the vr4. This thing was wrecked rolled 2-3 times radiator was wripped out, headers where squooshed, ect. It was a nightmare. The trans was cracked in 4-5 different spots. Well all and all I got the motor in the n/a body and I told him I needed $ for ic piping. He brings me a box with universal pipe and pvc and a huge fmic. I put that on and started it up drove it around my sub divition, and parked it, told him to pay me my $700 and never bring it back. When he told me he didnt have the money I went to move the car so it wasnt in the way since it would be sitting. Thas when I found out the plugs were fouled. I am not working that is the only reason I took this job. $700 for 8+ months of work. Not working on it everyday nor every week. When I needed parts it took him 1-2 weeks o get me the money for parts. A months ago I got a call, he said he had my money and he wanted his car done so I busted ass doing it and now no money.

I believe I have a cali spec first gen TT ECU laying around... would resolve the tuning issue, however I don't know what year car yours is.

Sounds like a crap situation all the way around, if it were me, I wouldnt touch the car or even worry about it until someone showed up with a pocket full of money. Do you still have the VR-4 you pulled the motor from? If you do, pull the ECU and wire harness out of it, put it in the N/A car with the stock TT injectors and call it a day. There is a saying that I like and I think it is perfect for this situation. Your car can be: A) Cheap B) Reliable C) Fast Pick two.

The tt wiring harness was shot. Torn apart from the accident. I sold the ecu for some extra $ then had to refund there money since it had leaky caps. I still have it laying around. but its pointless. I am going to tell him what it needs and he can have some one tune it i guess.
