Hello Everyone,

Im really in a bind with the stealth as you can see. The wedding is five weeks away and we plan on having my stealth in the wedding. But the headlights will no work at all, will not turn on or pop up. What happened was a wire under the dash burnt about 8 inches of insulation off the wire so its bare right now,(somehow the other wires next to it look good) its the harness where you would make the jumper for snake eyes to work. The wire that burnt was not part of the snakeyes jumper wire. I took apart the headlights and found that the wires on the driver side headlight melted and touched each other which probably caused the wire under the dash to melt. Also the 40 amp fuse under the hood on the passanger side was blown. So i fixed the wiring harness and taped up the bare wire (Which i will used shrink tube in time), replaced the fuse. Tried the headlights after that, the passanger side went up and that was it, shut the lights off and the light went down, lights didnt turn on either. When using the lightswitch, you can here clicking where those relays are next to the fuse that was blown, also the new fuse looked discolored after trying to see if the lights would work. All other lights work, brakelights parklights...etc.

I got 2 weekends to get it working this weekend is one of em, does anyone have any suggestions?? I did try some different relays out of my old stealth but nothing worked. Is there relays under the dash somewhere?

I search 3si for a bit but nothing really came up with the problem that I have.

Suggestions will be gratefully appreciated!!!

I would start ohm'ing out some connections and measuring resistance between points. If your fuse is discolored already your old wires are probably toast and your pulling to much current again. The sheathing melted into the wires is most likely the culprit.

Can you get pictures of what melted? You mentioned that the wires near the lamps were most likely the cause, could this be a side effect of the snake eyes mod?

Well I checked out the service manual and replaced some relays and check out some more fuses but nothing. Im just gonna take it in somewhere and have them fix it.
After that im gonna sell it looking to get 10,000 for it. 119000 miles, dr-500s with supporting mods, and damn near a perfect body and interior. If you know of anyone interested let me know. Ill advertise it more when the lights get fixed
