vetting wrote: I'd be interested in going Saturday morning with you. Do you have to pay cash on the spot? No, you can use a credit card, or pick up vehicle within 2 days. In order to get a bidder number (paddle), you must first surrender a $200 deposit, which is refunded if you don't get a car. There is a buy fee of $255 for each car. I have a permanent bidder number, and can bid on as many cars as I want. I can even allow others to use my number, but they must sign all forms in person, when car is picked up & final payment made. In such cases, I collect the $200 deposit, and pay for the name change, you pay the $255 buy fee, plus winning bid amount for car. If I am to bid on a vehicle desired by another, I must have cash-in-hand, for I'm required to purchase cars on which I win the bidding. It's best to attend an auction, or two, to learn how it works, or go with an experienced indiidual.

Manik, While your out could you pick me up a happy meal, small fries, and a large orange drink? Your the best man, thanks. A923KGT wrote: hey manik,
Can you keep your eyes open for me on a 97+ chevy or ford full size 4wd ex cab?
I'm looking to spend about $5k. Prefer manual over auto, but either can work. No rust is important, mileage is not.
Need to have a truck by mid-May. Do you see much out there that would meet my request?
Thanks Aaron

Sorry, only one 4X4, an '87 Blazer, #4 condition. Lots of cars to be had between $2k - $4k, even a perfect 1980 Impala.

Is that the Waukegan Auto Auction? I bought 3 cars for 900.00 last year. Great place for a cheap parts car. One car had a rod knock so nobody wanted it, so it went for 99.00 plus the 200.00. I put a spare 2.0 eclipse engine in it, painted it and my son drives it for a beater to college. I may see you there.

This is not a good time of year for good deals, public buyers are there, with thier tax refund checks, paying up to DOUBLE any car's value. I went Saturday, (without vetting, who hd to work), and bid o a few cars, the crowd beat my high bids by $500 - $800 every time. So I tried to get a non-runner 1986 LeSabre w/34k miles, covered in leaves and dirt. The car hd no power, would not start with a jump. Another bidder beat me out at $675!!! No more is there any possibility of the famed $99 bid, as there's a local boneyard, (City, I think), who has placed a blanket bid on all non-runners, of $200. If you add-in the $255 buy fee, that makes a non-runner a $500 car, once you beat the reserved bid. A nice car, like the Buick, or Porsche, may end up between $750 and $2500. The "good 'ol days" of "stealing" good cars from the auction are all but gone. In the previous two years, I got a '81 Featherbird 3.8 52k miles for $800, an '85 5.0 GT ragop w/72k miles for $225, a '91 Volvo 740 for $75, and 3 convertible K-cars for total of $989. I attend most wed. & sat. looking for a good car, or a good deal. I'm still hoping to get another Buick Reatta, driver, or parts car. Okay, now Ive become involved in "Hyjacking" my own post!! Any more ideas on my shiftin problem? Engine runs smooth/strong. It does seem like it's in 3rd gear, no matter what forward gear I select, Reverse is very strong. Fluid looks brown, will flush-n-filter it first. A friend wants to buy it from me, as-is for $2000, (close to my cost). Would I be selling it too cheap? Id like to keep this one, to go with my 'Vette, Reatta coupes/ragtop, 5.0 GT, Porsche, and 280zx, but I'd need to learn yet another mfr/car's qwerks, and the others have plenty of thier own!

Don't remember seeing you there, that's too bad the price went up. I'll check the cars online first before going down. Is the $255 buy fee still divided by the amount of cars you buy? Last year it was. They still have that 92 Eclipse there, lol, it must be there 6 months or more. I like Wednesday night and make sure I take a beater so I don't "lose" any parts to my car. It's always fun to watch everyone leave with their deals, clouds of smoke, overheating, flat tires, push to start. PM me next time you go and I may see you there.
My daughters 92 Stealth was in limp mode and it was the TCU. The big capacitor was fried on it, destroying the board. I got one in Florida for $300 no exchange.

Ah, that means it's in limp mode which also means you should have a code to pull from the ECU. Get the code, replace the sensor, and it should work perfectly. www.plymoutlaser.com

I like Wednesday night I'll be goin' this wednesday! We could meet here at Brass Balls Corner 4pm. Yeah, that beaten eclipse is still there!!! I would'nt even buy it from the non-runners! They could'nt even give me that one in the raffle! They don't give away any cars anymore, and the $255 fee must be paid for each car you buy!! Send me a PM for phone #, so we can arrange an auction-run.
