I have a 1992 Dodge Stealth, SOHC. I am having a problem with the car not starting. It seems to be the fuel injectors not firing. Do I have a bad fuel pump, maybe a fuel sensor switch, bad fuel pressure, or computer related problem? Looking for tech help and parts to fix this! thanks for any help! Steve

Find another ECU out of a similar car to borrow, swap in, and see if it works. The ECU will work in your car if the E2T numbers stamped on the outside of the ECU match.

If the clip that holds the wires in place comes loose or breaks, then the wires rub against the belts and wear through. I had that problem once. I don't remember for sure, but ithese wires are either fuel or spark related. Greg, does a 92 SOHC have the wires there? Can you elaborate a bit on what these wires do?

Greg, does a 92 SOHC have the wires there? Can you elaborate a bit on what these wires do? Nope. SOHC engines have a distributer. No cam or crank sensors. Willing to put $$ on it being the ECU.

or if it has been sitting a while, the fuel pump may just need to be "primmed." Just run 12 volts to the pump to get the fuel in the lines and the required pressure behind the injectors. (you will also be able to hear the pump run, and check at least one thing off your list of "possible broken parts")
I had that problem once.

thanks for the replies! I am pretty sure that my fuel pump is still ok, but I am not sure if has enough pressure! I do hear it pump for a few seconds and then stop. The car will start at times and run like a champ! If I go ten miles and then go in a store, when I come out, it will not start. Spark was checked to be OK. A testor was placed on the injectors and on go. I am glad to hear I am not looking for crank sensors. Is the ECU the cars computer? If so, any suggestions on where to get one to try. Thank Steve

I picked up mine from www.avproecm.com for $250 and you send in your old one. Same day turn-around and it fixed all the weird problems on my car. There are a ton of companies on the web that do the same thing though. sunfish wrote: :o thanks for the replies!
