Ok i think my car i leaking oil here but not sure if i can just get a seal or something. Um just looking for soe advise on this not sure what to do or what it is. here's the link thanks for any help!

Yeah i think that's what it is but when i tallked with someone from mitsubishi they had now idea what i was talking about thats why im looking for some help on this one also if that's what it is ummm will it be hard to fix? do i have to do anything extreme to fix it or just a couple of bolts?

It's not that bad. once you have the transmission out.

that is the rear main crankshaft seal.

The mitsu dealer can't find his butt with both hands. he's a monkey.

I got mine at the dealership in Green Bay, I believe that I had to find the part number myself, or have him turn the monitor around, and pick it off the screen myself. they have pictures. you know where it is. just have him turn the screen around. or as someone with that parts look up thing to check the part number.

Also, check the press in seal from the tranny. that also may be the cause of the leak!

put in a different color fluid in the tranny. red line or royal purple. that way when you get a leak, you know where to look.

Well it turns out that they did have one in stock just stopped there day finally got a chance to. Um they said i need that gasket maker crap. It's just the normal gasket maker right? or do i need there $40 bottle of it?

Thanks man you been a big help with this. But got antohter ? So this thing is just supposed to pop off of thereonce i undo the bolts? also nothings gonna move is it? I knew i wasn't gonna need there dam shit but he kept trying to sell it to me.

you will more than likely have to pry it off. who ever put it on beofre probably used a sealer, (much like RTV) so it will stick. make sure you clean the surface, and the transmission while it's on the ground. brake cleaner is your friend. Gently put it back on, too, and make sure the RTV seals decent or you'll be back in there in no time... I can't remember which RTV I used, though... sorry.

That's ok man any kinda help is worth it. I apprecicate all the help you have giving thanks alot! once i get her going i'll let you know how it goes i think im gonna try the black rtv stuff. But thanks again.

i just wanna be sure before i seal it.....put sealer around the metal then push the ring in there?

Is that a new seal? If so, you don't need RTV on the seal itself, but use RTV to seal the housing to the block. There's no gasket.

Also, I have an oil pan if you're still looking for one.
