This is EXACTLY what I was hoping for. I agree totally with what you said. I think the unofficial events and stuff you mentioned above would fit great in the "General Chat" forum. Since W3SI doesn't have a huge amount of traffic it probably doesn't need any extra forums.
I also like what Bryan said about the NWS labeling. I think that is important. But on the flip side, I would hope that not a huge number of things need that labeling, but I've done it myself on other messageboards.
My comments aren't about causing more drama, its about fixing things.
