Well, as some of you know, I was in an accident with the car a few weeks back. I damaged the front bumper, crash bar, radiator support, hood, and one headlight bucket....that's a recipe for the 99 conversion Please, don't go thinking that I'm happy about the dumb mistake I made regarding the accident. This whole thing is just a bad situation really, but the 99 conversion is on the way. I've had mixed feelings portrayed toward it. If you don't know what it looks like, check www.3sxperformance.com, then click on body and lighting. The picture of the first car up will be Steve Burrough's 1994 VR-4.

I really like the look of the car's that I've seen with the conversion, and mine will be just a little different than any I've seen. It will include:

99 bumper
99 headlights
99 turn signals
2nd gen headlight buckets
99 front lip (not many have this)
2nd gen cowled Viper hood (also pretty rare)
2nd gen sideskirts
99 sail panels
99 reverse panel
(I've already got some of this stuff)

I think the combination will be very nice, and considering the stock hood would cost more than the viper hood, I think it's a pretty good deal. All painted Sandstone Gray Metallic. Well, should I have gone this way or stuck to the first gen? Just looking for opinions, and looking to speed up the conversation on W3si!

On another note, I am going to use Kuettner Mitsubishi in Waukesha as the source for my factory 99 parts, they have been very helpful, and with the w3si discount, the least expensive option thus far.

I say go for it man, the bumper is perfect for a nice FMIC to be displayed as well.

If I wasn't such a fan of snakes I'd go 99 as well.

Your car will be one of the sweetest 3kgt's around. It's already beautiful, but with a 99 front end and side skirts, it will likely be the specticle to see at any event you attend. The color alone is eye catching, now add a 99 flavor to the mix and you have instant WOW.

I donno.... Guess I'm not as big into the 99 front end as everyone else is, but whatever blows your skirt up.

If it were my car, I'd do something a little more origonal like 2G 3K side skirts, with a 2G stealth front + lights. Although, not having the fakey side intakes like my car has really grown on me...

...but whatever, it's your car. What you have in mind sounds good too. 99 fronts with FMICs are a match made in heaven. Curious to see what it'll look like when it's finished.

I think 99's are awesome looking.. I personally dont like it really when you make your car something its not.. for example make it appear to be a 99 when its not.. But thats just me.. I do love the front bumper though.. If I had a big front mount.. Thats the bumper I would buy.

Nohting against it though, im sure it will look good..
Perfect time to do it seeing how you need most parts anyway..
