I am looking for a stock shifter for 5spd, (mine has a short shifter in it and I do not like it that much), a drivers side seat in tan / beige leather (really only need the upper section), and a factory radio with CD. railshot@hotmail.comor daveVR4@hotmail.comemail me with price and location, not in a big hurry, just stuff that I want to improve on. It feels good to be behind the wheel of a 3kGT again. Dave

I think I have what you need.
First gen shifter - this has a bit longer throw than a second gen shifer.
I have a cd radio and cd changer from my 93 sl. They had a few different connectors on the radios, so I'm not sure if this will work for you. I also have the radio from my 92 sl that I'm willing to part ways with.
I have a beige (cream colored) 1st gen leather seat in fair condition. The seat back is in good condition from what I can remember. Do you need a beige seat or a tan one?
I would need your seat and your shifter in the swap.
Let me know if you're interested and I'll snap some pics.
Thanks Aaron

Yes I am interested. Not really sure as to what fits on what, you guys are much better at that than I am at the present. Give me time, it has been a few years since I have had a 3000GT, and it feels good to be back in the saddle. The seat is a light color, here is a shot if it. That is an aftermarket short shifter, with a ugly boot on it. The car is blue, but I like everything stock looking. As far as the radio goes, I have found a pinout for all years so this would not be a problem. Let me know how much you want for all of the above, and I will get back to you. Thanks, Dave

Hmmmm, after driving it for a few days now, I am really starting to like the short shifter.... I just may keep it. All I need to do is dye the shift boot, and change the knob.
As for the seat, I do believe I will have it recovered. Nice feel to it and all power. It hugs me nicely and is adjustable, lumbar etc.
The radio that is in it now turns out to be an MP3 / WMA player..... all I really need to do is remount it properly, so now what I need is a new fascia for the radio. Anyone have one laying around?
Dave

A923KGT, I am considering the radio and cd changer you have. I really miss having the steering wheel controls available to use. Does the $$$ include the cd changer. Any interest in my Alpine CDA 9847? MP3, WMA, Sirrius etc? Willing to trade? Thanks, Dave I have been trying to PM you, but it is not working.... email me directly if you would like railshot@hotmail.com or daveVR4@hotmail.com

That is an extremely ugly shift knob you have there.
I feel that it is my duty as a fellow 3000GT owner to offer my stock 5 speed shift knob to you. Cost of shipping and handling and it's yours.

One of those fancy "MOMO" devices. PM me, and I will take you up on your offer!!!! or if you are local to me (Lake Geneva, Wi. area, willing to go to Waukesha, Racine, heck most anywhere within 50 miles of me to get rid of this thing)!!!! I would gladly stop by and pick it up and give you the shipping costs instead. Just curious though, mine is held on by 3 setscrews and not threaded onto the shift lever, someone either cut the stock one down, or replaced it. How is the stock one held on? I never had to take the one off of my VR4 when I had it, so not really sure on this one.

I'll take a look tomorrow after classes, and let you know. I never actually tried removing it before.

Alright, so I "uninstalled" my shift knob. It just screws on the stock shifter (1st gen long throw). I am not sure how it will install on your aftermarket shifter. It's actually in rather good condition considering its age; the former owner had an aftermarket stitched leather skin over it, so when I removed that, the shift knob underneath was somewhat pristine. I'm roughly 150 miles away from you, so I wouldn't ask you to come and pick it up, unless you're heading up to NE Wisconsin for some reason. Let me know if you want the knob, PM your address and I'll send it your way.

I can tap my aftermarket one for whatever threads are on the stock one. I have the ability and equipment. LOL.
PM sent with address etc. Let me know how much and where to send payment! I always liked the stock shifter knob feel. Dave

I shipped it out yesterday, should be there tomorrow or Thursday. The padded envelope and the shipping were barely over 3 dollars combined, so you really don't need to pay me for it. Consider it premature/belated W3SI b-day gift. Enjoy.

Well thank you very very much jeettao !!!
I may be in the possesion of 2 stock radios soon, so if anyone is looking for one let me know. They will be from a 94 / 95 3kgt, and one of them I will be keeping for mine. I will post here if it does happen, with the model number that I do not need. I will check my Mitsubishi WinCaps and post what years / models these will work in. If anyone else needs to check what radio came in their car, or what will fit / work, let me know. The more I use it, the more I find this is one handy piece of software to have. Later, Dave
