I had that additude when I got my first TT. Got a great deal on it. It was in pretty good shape on the outside and interior, but it leaked every fluid, nearly every moving part needed to be replaced, and I eventually lost all love for the car because $2500 later the problems never seemed to end.
Just trying to give you a heads up. It's hard to find a good deal on an older 3/S that's in good shape. These cars aren't cheep by any means.
