My car has been having some issues starting lately. I can hear the starter click and engage, but it will not turn the flywheel. I've pulled it off, supplied power to it and it turns just fine... I't started fine 5 times today and a few times yesterday. So i'm not sure whats going on yet.
I'm going to mess with it more tonight and see if i can figure it out.
But If I can't I was wondering if anyone had a starter they would be willing to sell so I could test it with a different one.

You sure it's not just your battery?

I also read something on 3si recently about the starter being set up the same way the fuel pump is set up, where the voltage is limited, and so if you do a rewire with a relay connected to the battery and the started it will kick over harder. I believe this solved the "turn the key and hear the ~click~click~ sound" problem. I'm not sure if that's your problem, though.
I have a "jump start" pack in my garage that I can loan you, so if your out some where and it gives you crap you can throw the jump pack on and if it kicks over then you know it's your battery or charging system. Let me know.

I ended up figuring it out last night.
Somehow, a small piece of aluminum got wedged into the starter. Id say it was little larger than a BB. I didn't notice this the first 2 times I pulled it off. But it starts fine now, so far so good.
I used to have that problem where the starter wouldnt turn over, but I put in my own relay for it last year.
