Scott,
Hey, get off ur lazy arse and see if you have a 1st gen radio I can buy off of you. I'm dying to get the tunes working in my car. Let me know if you have one or take some pics and post them. Remember mine had the manual levers for the equalizer and not the electronic as found in later 1st gens. Take pics of the back of them if your not sure and I'll let you know what matches up to mine. Thanks.

Sorry Brett: It's been pretty hectic since my son's car accident this week so I haven't been watching the website much and didn't notice your post. The radio is Mitsu Part #MR158589 Infinity. I will try to get pics of it posted. I don't know if it requires a security code since it has never been powered up. It has seven sliding levers on the bottom front for equalizer.

You've always been my slave when Amy is not whoring you out and you know it. And yeah, look for that radio, I wouldn't mind buying 2 or 3 of them to have them on hand when mine blows up. When you find it, just send me pics of the back of the radio so I know my connectors will match up. Jhammer wrote: Quote: Jhammer, is Scott even on the boards? You put family before me? Sounds like your priorities are whacked. Hey, no problem, it just sucks driving 45 minutes one way to work every morning with no tunes, I didn't realize how much not having a radio would bother me until it was gone. If you can snap me a pic of the ports on the back I'll be able to tell if it will line up with mine. Whenever you get a chance, no worries. demonscoach wrote: Sorry Brett: It's been pretty hectic since my son's car accident this week so I haven't been watching the website much and didn't notice your post. I probably sounded pretty insensitive when I didn't inquire in my topic but I assumed he was referring to the incident that happened before he came to the UMG. Was he in another accident?

SJ Yes, he was in the accident on Oakdale & 59. He was in the passenger front seat. He sustained a concussion, facial bruises, neck and rib injuries. Spent less than a day in the hospital and is ok. He actually looks kind of cute in the neck brace. He regained consousness in the hospital and asked the nurse what happened. She said you were in a bad auto accident. He asks the nurse,"Please call my dad, unless I was driving, then nevermind." She told me then they knew he would be OK. We were blessed in another accident that could have been much worse. The police officer at the hospital told me when he arrived at the seen of the accident and saw the car he thought both passenger side occupants were fatalities. The boy in the back seat that was ejected out the rear window and airlifted from the seen ended up with less injuries then Matt. I guess all those Sundays in church are paying off for these young men. And that boy in the backseat might finally start wearing a seat belt. Matt was the only occupant that was wearing his seat belt. Both rear occupants were thrown from the car. Wife still a little upset for going to Hooters that same evening. Thanks for your thoughts SJ.

My god, glad to hear he is OK. I didn't read your post closely enough and didn't realize it was that recent.

Thoughts and prayers my friend. SO glad he is okay. The week was a blur for me, as they try and shove 5 days work into 4, so I didn't put two-and-two together -- sorry about that. I bet Dad needed a cold one after that day, so please tell your wife to hang in there -- there is nothing more powerful than prayer. Look at me? I'm not supposed to be here... But my Father reminds me only the good die young... Please send our best to Matt and give him a BIG W3SI kudos for wearing that seat belt. Safety first, no matter what. You can ask the boys -- I've walked away from track time at RA when things weren't just perfect. It ain't worth it. <BIG SIGH OF RELIEF> Thanks for the update Scott. I know Bret and I -- and the rest of the W3SI family -- are really glad to read this. Please keep us posted. Best, SJ

Scott, Glad to hear Matt is ok. Neck braces suck, but they sure are better than the alternative. Let us know if there is anything we can do.

Bret, You might want to have your mechanic check the continuity of each speaker connection. I'm not sure what the stock speakers are, but if it is not between 2 ohms and 16 ohms then you have a problem.

I'm not really sure what you mean by this or if you think the speakers are what is causing my radio to blow up. I replaced the stock speakers with cheap after-market a couple years ago. My radio's have always gone out after about 2 to 3 years though with the old speakers or the new. I know when Chad put a voltage tester to the outside of the radio when it was only plugged into power and nothing else and pulled out of the frame it registered pretty high voltage on the outside of the case where it shouldn't have any. He couldn't imagine where that could be coming from except a bad ground inside the radio. I know in the past if I put in a new radio it would work fine for a couple years or a little more then break, I assumed it was just because the radios are getting old.
